Watching CatheDownloads Videos on Your Samsung Galaxy Nexus Phone

Now that you have your brand-new Galaxy Nexus phone up and running, the next thing you are probably going to want to do is get some CatheDownload videos playing on it! Well, it only takes a few minutes on your Windows or Mac computer to copy some over and to be ready to exercise:

•	On Windows, connecting a Micro USB to USB cord to the phone and your computer is the first step. As the phone is recognized by the computer, Windows will download and install the correct drivers for seeing it as a hard drive. When the drivers are completely installed, an AutoPlay window will open asking what you would like to do with the device. It is best to just click the red “X” to close this window. The next step is to either open your “Computer” from the icon on the desktop, or go to your “Start” menu and choose “Computer.” When the window opens, your phone will appear as “Galaxy Nexus” in the list of available hard drives and devices. In order to copy your CatheDownload videos, simply double click on “Galaxy Nexus,” open the “Movies” folder, and drag and drop into it whatever Cathe videos you’d like to view. When the copy has finished and you are ready to exercise, right click on the “Galaxy Nexus” icon and choose “Eject,” then disconnect the USB cable and you are all set!

•	On the Mac, one more step is involved than Windows. You will first need to go to http://www.android.com/filetransfer/ to download the Android File Transfer utility. When the download has completed, double click the “androidfiletransfer.dmg” file, and a disc will mount on the desktop. Open this disc and drag the Android File Transfer utility to your Applications folder. Next, plug in your Galaxy Nexus via a Micro USB to USB cable and then launch the Android File Transfer utility. When the program opens, simply double click on the “Movies” folder in the list and drag and drop into it whatever Cathe videos you’d like to view. When the copy has finished and you are ready to exercise, quit the Android File Transfer utility and unplug your phone from the USB cable. You are now ready to watch your CatheDownload videos!

To watch the videos on your phone, tap on the icon at the bottom of the home screen to see all of your installed Apps, then launch your “Gallery” app. After it launches, tap the “Video” icon, and your CatheDownloads should be in that folder. Simply tap the one you want to watch, rotate the screen, and you are all set!

To remove the videos from your phone, you can either mount the phone on your computer again, drag the file to your trash/recycle bin and empty it, or in the Android “Gallery” app tap to select the video, then tap on the menu icon at the bottom of the screen and tap on “Delete.”

Got a Kindle Fire as a gift, or bought one for yourself? You’re in luck—we’ve recently tested it out and Cathe’s download videos work very well on it. Getting your CatheDownloads onto the Kindle Fire is fairly easy, but you’ll have to obtain a USB cable to make the transfer. The Kindle Fire only ships with a charging cable that cannot be connected to your computer, however you can find the necessary cable (Micro USB to standard USB) at most electronics stores. If you have a newer phone, many also use this same cable that will work just fine. Once you have the cable, here is the process to copy your video over:

First, connect the cable to your computer and Kindle Fire. Make sure the Kindle is turned on and unlocked (you will need to swipe the yellow bar over, and if you have a password set, enter that). If you have a Mac, you will see the Kindle appear as a new removable drive on your desktop, and if you have a Windows computer, you will need to open your Computer and it will appear in the removable drives section.

Next, on both platforms, double click the drive which represents the Kindle and navigate to the “Video” folder. This is where you will drag your CatheDownload videos. Remember, the Kindle Fire only has about 5.4 free GB of memory on it for file storage, so don’t copy too many videos onto it at once.

When the copy has completed, on the Mac, drag the disc to the eject button in the dock, then tap “Disconnect” on the Kindle (if you tap “Disconnect” first the drive will usually not eject properly). On Windows, tap “Disconnect” and the Kindle will automatically eject.

To watch your videos, you do not go to “Video” at the top of the home screen (this is reserved for videos you have purchased through Amazon). You have to tap on “Apps”, then launch your “Gallery” app. After it launches, tap the “Video” icon, and your CatheDownloads should be in that folder. Simply tap the one you want to watch, rotate the screen, and you are all set!

To remove the videos, you can either mount the Kindle Fire on your computer again, drag the file to your trash/recycle bin and empty it, or in the Kindle Fire “Gallery” app tap to select the video, then tap on the menu icon at the bottom of the Kindle screen and tap on “Delete.”

It is already possible! Take a look at the Pocket Projector for iPhone 4® that is available from Brookstone (http://www.brookstone.com/pocket-projector-for-iphone-4). Developed by Texas Instruments, the projector uses an LED lamp (like the LED flash on the phone itself, but brighter) to display your workout videos on any surface. You are no longer limited to the small iPhone screen when you are away from your television set. Here at Cathe dot Com, we envision this being useful to take with you on vacation in hotel rooms, for at the gym for instructor-less workouts, at work for a lunchtime exercise session, and to use in an empty room at home when the kids are using all the televisions. You can now move to the basement or garage for some extra room for Cathe’s more active and space-consuming workouts!

The Pocket Projector works with many of the native iPhone 4 apps, such as YouTube and Photos, and most importantly, Videos. It is with this app that you play your CatheDownload exercise videos, or the workouts that you have created in the Workout Blender. (Just in case you are wondering, it will play videos other than Cathe’s, too!) The case that wraps around the phone also contains a 2100mAh battery that powers the projector, but when fully-charged also serves as a back-up battery for your iPhone. It also contains a speaker and a focus adjustment so that you can control the image clarity. Looks like the only thing missing is a remote control!

So how much does this convenience cost you (or your family—it looks like it will make a great present!)? The projector will set you back $230 directly from Brookstone and starts to ship on the 16th of November, however they are now accepting pre-orders. We may be tempted to get one for ourselves here in the Cathe offices—if we do we’ll let you know our opinions of its performance!

For the CatheDownload exercise video and Apple product user, there is one piece of optional equipment that is essential to your workout viewing pleasure: Apple TV2. Apple’s minuscule $99 black box can be your gateway to exercising with Cathe on your big screen television from your computer or iOS device with very little set-up effort involved. Using the current version of iTunes on your Mac or Windows computer, you can send video wirelessly through your home’s wifi network (or wired through an Ethernet network) to the Apple TV, which can then display your workouts at full-resolution on your television. Any CatheDownload video that resides in your iTunes library can be shown this way and can be controlled by the Apple TV’s remote control, which means that your computer does not have to be physically located anywhere near your television. And this also works for showing videos from devices running Apple iOS 4.2 or newer, which includes all current versions of the iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad. So you can have your iOS device charging in another room and at the same time be watching your CatheDownload videos from it on your television.

When you take a look at the cost of a cable to connect, for example, your iPhone to your television, it requires a $40 investment. Spending an additional $59 (plus the cost of an HDMI cable) on the Apple TV2 enables you to not only connect that device to your TV, but also any computer or current and future iOS device, plus gives you some other great features that are already built into the Apple TV. These include watching or listening to any previous purchases you have made through iTunes, renting or purchasing TV shows or movies, watching podcasts, access to your Netflix account, YouTube, Flickr, Internet Radio, WSJ News, live sports, plus viewing any photos you have stored on Apple’s Photo Stream service from your iOS devices. The Apple TV easily becomes well worth the additional investment.

Now for a couple of minor “gotchas:” First, the Apple TV2 requires that your television connect to it through an HDMI connection. While most newer televisions have this interface, if you have an older TV that doesn’t, you are out of luck. And second, the Apple TV2 has no on-board storage. While not a deal-breaker, what this means is that you must always have your computer or iOS device turned on and accessible in order to view your CatheDownload workouts. That’s about it on the negatives!

So what do you need to make an Apple TV2 work? Well, the bare minimum is an HDMI-compatible TV, a computer (with iTunes installed) or iOS 4.2 or greater device (iPod/iPhone/iPad), an iTunes account, and a wireless network in your home (or wired if you will only be using a computer). If you are already downloading and using CatheDownload workouts on your computer or iPhone, you probably have all of the necessary components.

When you get back from your trip to the Apple Store with your diminutive box in-hand (oh, and don’t forget to pick up an HDMI cable, too!) Simply follow Apple’s excellently simple printed manual and on-screen directions included with your shiny new 4”x4”x1” black box, and you will be up and ready to exercise in no time. However, one small step that I’d like to expand on is how to get your Apple TV set up so that you can stream your videos from your computer or iOS device. You’ll first need to go to the “Settings” menu on the Apple TV and make sure that “AirPlay” is set to be enabled (this is Apple’s technology for streaming your videos and music to the Apple TV). Next, go to your iOS device and start a CatheDownload video playing as you normally would. You should see an icon in the lower right corner of the controls that looks like a rectangle with an arrow cutting into it at the bottom. This is the AirPlay icon and where you’ll need to tap to choose your Apple TV from the list. Once you choose it, the video should begin playing on your television. You can control playback either from your iOS device’s controls or the remote that came with your Apple TV (which has the benefit of allowing you to place your iOS device out of the room and plug it in to keep it charged). You can also play your CatheDownload workout videos from iTunes in the same manner by clicking on the AirPlay icon in the bottom right corner of the iTunes window. Again, you can use your Apple TV remote to control playback, skip chapters, pause, etc., of your workout.

After using your Apple TV to view your CatheDownloads you will wonder how you ever did it before. And don’t forget, you can also view your own “premixes” that you have created in the Workout Blender in the same way!

Here is a link to Apple’s website so that you can check it out the Apple TV2: http://www.apple.com/appletv/

“YOU’VE NEVER SEEN LOW IMPACT WORKOUTS LIKE THESE!”

You want to get the most out of your workouts and you really love high intensity routines, but your joints no longer can handle the jumping and high impact exercises. Many of you have probably tried some low impact workouts, but found the intensity and fun to be lacking in most of the videos you have tried. You still have the heart and the strength for high intensity workouts and you would still do them if you could, but joint pain no longer allows you to do what you love.

Some of you may not have any joint issues now, but are looking for ways to balance your injury risk so that you dont erase your hard fought gains achieved from high impact training. There are many factors to consider when choosing between high impact and low impact exercise, but what if you could get the benefit of both in the same workout without the problems? Well, now you can with my Low Impact series which totally redefines low impact workouts.

The Low Impact series features a wide variety of 9 workouts (does not include Cycle Max) that can each be ordered individually. Though there is no jumping in any of these workouts you will be surprised and amazed at how intense these workouts are and how they will become your newest favorite weapon to blast away fat and get you into the best shape of your life. And best of all – Your joints will thank you!

This highly contagious ALL STEP workout will have you tapping your toes from the warm up straight through to the cool down. It features a high energy rocking soundtrack along with super fun choreography that keeps the impact low, but the fun factor and intensity WAY high!! Youll love its dancy flow and also how just putting slightly varied twists on familiar choreography gives it a completely new feeling. Not into dancy choreography??? Not a problem!!! Ive included a bonus step circuit segment thats all about endurance and athleticism and has nothing to do with mambos & cha chas. So you seethere is something for everyone!

Oh and did I forget to mention that this joint friendly workout burns major calories and body fat too? What more could you ask for?

The time breakdown for the Low Impact Challenge step workout is:

Total time 50:24 (Warm-up 7:33,Step 22:06, All Combos 7:04, Blast 10:28, Stretch 3:10)

We’ve also included a 22 min circuit step routine that is included with this workout.
