Many of you have probably tried some low impact workouts, but found the intensity and fun to be lacking in most of the videos you have tried. <p>This exercise routine is the ultimate long and lean total body strengthening workout and uses most of the same methods that many professional dancers use when they train.  Expect to combine elements of pilates, yoga, and ballet, drizzled with some light cardio benefits for an excellent total body conditioning workout.  After a warm up, youll strengthen the upper and lower body with light to moderate handweights.  Have a lighter and heavier set handy so you can quickly make adjustments to challenge your muscles appropriately.  After the handweight conditioning segment, youll get your turbo bar or a chair for a very challenging lower body leg strengthening segment.  Finally youll conclude with a very intense core workout!</p>

<p>Athletic Training is a low impact circuit workout that takes fitness circuits to a whole new dimension. Be prepared for nonstop action using the original health club step, a set of light and heavy dumbbells, a firewalker band and a pair of Slide and Glide discs.</p>
<p>Depending on the exercise youll vary your step height anywhere from 8 to 10 inches in height while you challenge your body both on and off the step in a variety of challenging ways. Youll do compound exercises along with isolation exercises, work the upper and lower body both simultaneously and separately, do low impact cardio with and without discs and bands, and even throw a superset in here and there for complete exhaustion!</p>

<p>Now, before you get started I would like to go over a few things you need to know about using your Fitness by Cathe Slide and Glide discs.</p>
<p>First, make sure to select the right disc set up for your type of flooring.  The normal Fitness by Cathe orange discs work best on carpeted floors  and these same orange discs covered in the included black fabric, are designed for wooden and most vinyl floors.   So go ahead and experiment to see which disc arrangement works best for your type of flooring.</p>
<p>Next, you need to practice using your Fitness by Cathe discs- most especially in the standing position- before attempting any of these workouts so that you will be familiar with how to safely use them for each exercise.</p>
<p>Always make sure to place the ball of each foot in the middle of your disc with your heel hanging over the edge.  When your heel is in the down position it assists you in your push off. Then as you glide, slightly lift your heel to free up your movement.  Always remember to place your heel down on the floor to stop any sliding exercise.  This heel down position will act as your brake and stop any sliding movement for better stability and control.</p>
